Organizer for Group

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to get everyone's opinion about a few things regarding the offical formation of this group:
Do you think that the group organizer should already have some knowledge of the Finnish language or that having an interest in both the language and culture are good enough qualifications? Also, as you might have noticed several of the other groups such as German language meet up etc have their respective restaurants where they can meet. However, after a bit of research I have yet to find any Finnish restaurants in NYC (though there are numerous organizations and foundations). Do you think that this is necessary or that we should be able to meetup anywhere that is at least somewhat scandanavian in nature?

I am really willing to become the organizer of this group but I would like the opinions and suggestions of those awaiting the formation of the group before I make any final decisions.

There probably aren´t any Finnish restaurants in New York. The NY Metropolitan Chapter people could probably suggest you a meeting place.
